Before You Build Consulting is based in the middle of a unique Eco Development named “Beyond”, near Victor Harbor, South Australia. Mike has lived in or worked for the Development for the last 15 years.

Whilst working in sales, Mike delighted in explaining the concepts that make a house sustainable, efficient, beautiful and a place where people thrive. Seeing houses they admired in Beyond, many visitors to the Sales Centre who had already bought land elsewhere brought their preliminary plans back to Mike to have them enhanced. Enjoying the excitement this created, and frustrated at seeing so many homes being built on the South Coast with poor design choices, prompted Mike to promote and expand these services into private consultancy.

As the Sales Office has long since closed with the Development nearing completion, Mike is employed at Beyond in the Encumbrance Administration role, helping builders and owners to have their plans comply with the high standards of Sustainability and Energy Efficiency required at Beyond.
